Northern Irish golf ace Rory McIlroy has said that he is 'living like he is in the 1970s' after ending his relationship with tennis player fiancee Caroline Wozniacki

The world number 10 forgot the pain of his breakup by returning two eagles in a four-under-par 68 in the opening round of the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth but it was only a temporary respite from his anguish.

According to Sport24, McIlroy said that he has not turned on his mobile phone for a few days and has given away his laptop to live like he is in the 1970s, and admitted that it has been a tough week for him after announcing his mutual decision with Wozniacki to end their wedding plans.

McIlroy, who ended the day six strokes behind tournament leader Thomas Bjorn, said that he could concentrate on his game after he focused his mind on the task, adding that he is hoping to come through the tough time by concentrating on his golf and gym work.
