Northern Irish Professional golfer Rory McIlroy has topped the leaderboard on the opening day of the DP World Tour Championship after posting a six-under par 66 to partner his good friend Shane Lowry at the top.
Northern Irishman gave a blistering start with four birdies in his first five holes, which was further extended by adding two more on the 15th and 16th holes. He said that it was a great way to start and should have been five birdies in the first five. According to him, he has been hitting the ball well for the last couple of week and could execute it accordingly, Sport24 reported.
McIlroy has already secured the European Tour's Race to Dubai title for the second time in three years.
