McIlroy still enjoying career's golden days on world No. 1 spot as Woods slips to 17th

Northern Irish golf ace Rory McIlroy continues to enjoy the golden days of his career after dominating the world rankings since July this year on the back of two major titles among his four wins worldwide this year.

McIlroy overtook Australian Adam Scott, who remained on top of the world rankings for a short while, thanks to three back-to-back golf championship wins, Sport24 reported.

Meanwhile, former world number one Tiger Woods, who has suffered a year marred with injuries and fitness issues, slid to the 17th place in the world rankings.

The Top 20 players in the latest rankings after the European Tour's Portugal Masters and the PGA Tour's Frys.com Open are:
