The Government of India, in association with the Management Development Institute (MDI), has recently started a four-week residential program for the top rank officials from different public sector undertakings (PSUs) and Ministries.
The programme aims at improving their administrative skills and performances in their respective fields.
The session was inaugurated by the Austrian Ambassador Brigitte O. Walchshofer and Rajiv Yadav, Secretary, Ministry of the Parliamentary Affairs and Dr CP Srimali, Acting Director of the MDI.
Walchshofer, while addressing the participants, emphasized on the utility of abroad exposure that would help them in one to one interactions and to understand the new technology and work culture.
Further, Yadav said that these sorts of advanced management programme will help them to understand the various technological advancement, work culture and new skills, which are in practice in European countries.
He also advised them to have a holistic approach in policy formulation at their end. The participants also raised their queries regarding the various policies of the Government of India.

The participants seemed enthusiastic about the training programme.
S. Neelam Kumar, a participant, who is working as Chief Controller of Accounts, Ministry of Commerce and Textile, said that this was a very useful and informative program.
"Participants will get multiple exposures from different countries. We have people from finance and energy sector and with this kind of training and exposure, I am sure that this will help in our field with the exchange of the ideas," she added.
Dr Satya Prakash, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and a participant, was also in view that this type of training programme would boost the administrative skills.
Satish Chandra Jha, from Indian Post and Telecommunication department lauded the course, saying, "This is being addressed by many senior officers of the Government as today a secretary briefed us, will help us in future, The abroad training will help us to understand the new technology."
Top officials from top Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) like Indian Oil Corporation, Oil India Corporation, HPCL,BEML, NCL,ECIL, Airport authority Of India and Department of Post and Telegraph are among the participants in this advance training program.
The first 2 weeks of the programme is being held at MDI Campus and rest two at best business schools at Europe in Paris, Vienna, Frankfurt and Rotterdam.
They will also get an opportunity to interact at leading European Industrial houses such as FIAT, PIAGGIO, ARCELOR MITTAL, VOLKSWAGEN, DASSAULT FALCON Co, EPERNAY CHAMPAGNE, CHAMPAGNE, BASF etc.
