MEA steps in to rescue five Russians seriously injured in Uttarakhand bus mishap

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has got involved in the Uttarakhand bus accident incident that killed two and injured ten.

The MEA has said that five of those who are seriously injured are being airlifted to Delhi from Dehradun. It also said that it is providing all assistance to Russian tourists, belonging largely to ISKCON.

Yesterday a mini-tempo traveler carrying twelve Russian tourists plunged into river Bhagirathi leaving two Russian tourists dead.

Ten tourists including the bus driver were injured while one tourist was swept away by the river, following the accident.
