MEA will decide on Geelani passport issue: Jitendra Singh

Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Jitendra Singh on Tuesday said that the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) will take a call on whether to issue Hurriyat hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani with a passport after a detailed study.

"The Ministry of External Affairs will study all the facts and details and come out with an opinion and take a call," Jitendra Singh told media here.

According to reports, Hurriyat hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani has applied for an Indian passport to go to Saudi Arabia and visit his ailing daughter.
