Penelope Ann Miller is the latest to join 'Riverdale'.
The Golden Globe nominee will essay the role of Ms Wright, a district attorney who will go to any length to convict Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) of murder.
The CW's Archie Comics drama revealed during Comic-Con that it has cast Penelope in the upcoming season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Miller's character is being discussed as one that has a tinge of grey, but makers said she will not be seen playing a villain on the show.
However, the 54-year-old has quite a task ahead of her, to convict Archie of a crime he did not commit.
At Comic-Con, a glance of the third season was screened for the audience, featuring Archie, Veronica (Camila Mendes), Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Jughead (Cole Sprouse) trying to have the "best Labor Day Weekend ever" after the "worst summer."
