In her new book, author Jana Riess, has reportedly attempted to provide lessons from the Bible by posting everyday tweets to share excerpts.

The book, titled '"The Twible: All the Chapters of the Bible in 140 Characters or Less . . . Now with 68% More Humor!" contains Reiss' tweets on all 1,189 chapters of the Bible tweeted within the word limit of 140 characters on the microblogging site.

Reiss said that there are a lot people who would like to get more out of the Bible but maybe they find it a little inaccessible so approaching it with humor and making it short is helpful, Fox News reports.

Riess, also a religious commentator, said that Twitter helped to develop her writing style for 'The Twible.'

She revealed that when she was writing the book, she could see what was retweeted, what was favorite, what people were engaging with, which provided her with the sense of what works.

The report said that few followers were upset with Riess' reference to God as simple 'G' in her tweets, in a bid to suit the character limit, but Riess contended that the feedback is mostly positive for her book.
