Asserting that the PDP-BJP alliance is a comprehensive one, People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader Muzaffar Baig on Thursday said that party chief Mehbooba Mufti would meet Governor N.N. Vohra tomorrow to stake a claim to form a government in the state.
Speaking to media after PDP MLAs unanimously elected Mehbooba as leader of the legislature party, Baig said the day of the oath ceremony would be decided after PDP chief's meeting with the Governor.
"The senior leaders of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) decided to elect Mehbooba Mufti as the legislature party leader. Mufti Mohammad had a detailed discussion with the Prime Minister before the alliance was stitched. After his death, Mehbooba ji had to rebuild the relationship. The oath ceremony will be decided after meeting the Governor. Our agenda of alliance is comprehensive and there is nothing to add or delete from it." said Baig.
Echoing similar sentiments, another PDP leader Naeem Akhtar said that other things would follow in coordination with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after meeting with the Governor.
Mehbooba Mufti was earlier today unanimously elected as the party's chief ministerial nominee at the legislature party meet.
Jammu and Kashmir Governor N.N. Vohra has called separate meetings with the PDP chief and BJP state president Sat Sharma tomorrow.
Jammu and Kashmir was placed under the Governor's rule on January 8 after chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed's death on January 7.
