Two men are wanted for impersonating Chicago police and trying to pull over a motorist, who turned out to be a real Chicago cop, on early Tuesday morning on the Northwest Side.
According to ABC Chicago, the police claimed that the real officer was on his way to his house, just after midnight in the city's Avondale neighborhood, when a white SUV that resembled a police-issued Ford, turned on its flashing lights, the Huffington Post reported.
Another report alleged that the real officer had his bullet-resistant vest and a police shirt on, when one of the two men in plainclothes came towards his car and identified himself as Chicago police.
However, the real cop sensed something was off and after observing their lack of radios and guns, he replied saying, "Oh really?" the report claimed.
The two men then turned around and fled the scene.
The Chicago publication said that the real officers chased after the thugs but eventually lost them.
