Mercedes boss Niki Lauda has said that he will talk to team driver Lewis Hamilton before the next race in Canada to smooth over the tense situation with his co-driver Nico Rosberg.

Hamilton accused Rosberg of deliberately going off the Monaco track to stop him challenging for pole.

According to the BBC, Lauda said that on the occasion of any more such issues, he will call Hamilton and urged him to 'work it out in a nice way' to diffuse the tense situation within the team.

Hamilton finished second to Rosberg in Sunday's Grand Prix and afterwards was still clearly unhappy about the incident the previous day.

Although the Briton did not accuse Rosberg of foul play in public, but Lauda admitted he had done so in private behind the scenes.
