Argentina striker Lionel Messi has claimed that his side would show people why they are the favourites to win this World Cup once they start the knockout rounds.
Messi has helped Argentina win their first two World Cup matches, as he scored in stoppage time to clinch a 1-0 victory against Iran after he helped his national side defeat Bosnia-Herzegovina 2-1.
According to The Mirror, Messi said that if they analyse both the matches they might say that Argentina can play better, but he added that as Argentina progresses in the tournament they would reach their full potential.
The striker said that they know that they are not playing as well as they are expected, but Argentina has qualified for the next round and that was their first objective.
Messi further said that Argentina has to correct their mistakes and they are the first to realise that they are not playing at the level that they want to play at, adding that the squad was at least able to get the three points which means that they do not have to suffer in the last match.
