Bhubaneswar MeT Department Director S.C. Sahu said Monday the weather is now expected to normalise and added that some internal pockets might still receive rainfall as Cyclone Hudhud continues to recede.

"We don't expect bad weather in Odisha. However, rainfall is expected in some internal pockets. In south west Odisha, the rainfall will decrease," said Sahu

"We can expect rainfall over interior parts of Odisha, and at one or two places, there might be heavy rainfall in its interior districts,' Sahu added.

"In the coastal districts, the rainfall will decrease, maybe, at one or two places, light to moderate rainfall may occur. But the wind speed is continuing in the Bay of Bengal, because in the morning data that we received at Bhubaneswar, it showed wind speed to be around 60 kmph. So, we have cautioned the fisherman not to enter into the sea, and also the port authorities to be careful," Sahu said further.

He also said rainfall that had occurred in south west Odisha in the last 24 hours, will decrease subsequently in the next 24 hours.

Dr.Laxman Singh Rathore, Director General of Meteorology, India Meteorological Department (IMD), said the situation in Andhra Pradesh's Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and East Godavari Districts is near normal as winds are blowing at a normal speed of 30 kmph.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) had on Sunday evacuated around 558 people after Cyclone Hudhud made its landfall in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.
