Mexico coach Miguel Herrera has been sacked by the country's soccer federation for allegedly punching a TV reporter just two days after guiding his team to victory in the Gold Cup.
According to the television journalist, Herrera hit him in the neck and threatened at Philadelphia Airport.
Incoming Mexican Soccer Federation boss Decio de Maria has slammed the incident, saying it was not in keeping with the body's 'spirit of fair and respectful competition', the BBC reported.
Mexico had also reached the pre-quarters of the 2014 World Cup under the guidance of Herrera.
