MHA organizes meeting on streamlining internal security mechanism

The Ministry of Home Affairs organized a meeting here on Saturday to sensitize the states about the existing and emerging threats to internal security situation in the country.

The meeting was held to streamline the institutional mechanisms for sharing information and to adequately meet the threats from terrorism.

It was decided to strengthen the capacity building of the police officers in states through training programmes, to be organized by central intelligence and security agencies.

Instances of radicalization of youth in some states were also discussed including counseling of such youth and their families. Appropriate measures on counter radicalization were also discussed.

The meeting also discussed the modalities of analyzing the suspected social media platforms run by terrorists and criminal outfits.

 

The meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Union Home Secretary, L.C.Goyal and the representatives of central intelligence and security agencies, Directors General of Police (DGPs) and Home Secretaries of the 12 States attended the meeting.
