Former Pakistani captain Javed Miandad has reportedly notified his desire to quit as director general of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in a letter over 'reservations for being ignored' by re-appointed chairman Najam Sethi.

The batting legend was appointed in November 2008 and served under three PCB chairmen - Ijaz Butt, Mohammad Zaka Ashraf and Najam Sethi.

According to The Dawn, a PCB spokesman said that the matter would be discussed during the next meeting of the PCB's management committee.

Earlier this week, the report mentioned that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif removed Ashraf and appointed an eight-member management committee of the PCB which later elected Sethi as chairman.

In 2009, Miandad quit after developing differences with Butt before he was reinstated by then president Asif Ali Zaradari, the report added.
