Australian Captain Michael Clarke reportedly criticized England's selection for the fourth Test defeat and said that the team missed Matt Prior's experience and leadership.

He said that Prior is a similar person to Brad Haddin adding that one of the best things that's happened to their team was having Haddin back because of his experience, leadership and toughness.

According to the Guardian, Clarke praised Jonny Bairstow for his talent but opined that when a player isn't performing as well as you'd like as a team that a tough-nosed senior player helps the group a lot.

It is perceived that England's selectors effectively salvaged Prior's medium term international career by dropping him now, heading off any further unravelling of his form and teeing up a recuperative six months before a busy international summer at home.

Clarke further said that Prior has done some amazing things to help England get to where they are today adding that he would like to have Prior back in the starting XI as soon as possible.

The report added that England will play at least 18 limited overs matches before their next Test against Sri Lanka in May.
