Michael Douglas and wife Catherine Zeta-Jones are taking a break from their marriage of 13 years, but neither has filed for divorce or legal separation, it has been revealed.
The 68-year-old actor's rep had issued a statement saying that the couple was taking some time apart to evaluate and work on their marriage, the Mirror reported.
Insiders claimed that the couple's recent health scares- Douglas' battle with throat cancer and Zeta-Jones' bipolar disorder- have taken a toll on their marriage.
It was also speculated that the actors' admission that his type of cancer comes about from performing oral sex on women, was also responsible for the apparent break down of their marriage.
Douglas was recently spotted vacationing in Sardinia alone, while the actress is in NYC with their children.
