Former Australian batsman Michael Hussey has revealed that he will draw curtains on his Twenty20 career with Sydney Thunders at the end of this summer's Big Bash League.

Hussey, who played 79 Tests, 185 one-day internationals and 38 T20 internationals for Australia, will guide the Thunder for one more season before calling it quits.

While explaining the reasons for extending his stay at the club, the 40-year-old said that the club was pretty much on ground zero when the team general manager Nick Cummins and he came on board, adding that it acted as a big motivation for both of them to be a part of building something that has sustainable success for a long period of time, News.com.au reported.

The left-hander admitted that he feels there have been a lot of improvements made but insisted that the job is not done to where they would liked it. Hence, it motivated him for playing again another year, he added.

However, Hussey hasn't ruled out continuing his career overseas. The batsman featured for the Chennai Super Kings in the previous edition of the Indian Premier League.
