Michael J. Fox has revealed that he was about to give up on his acting dreams because he was always losing jobs to Matthew Broderick.
The 'Spin City' star recalled at the Casting Society of America's annual Artios Awards that in 1982, he was desperately looking for a job as he owed money, the New York Post reported.
The 52-year-old actor added that he was ready to go back to Canada and work in his brother's construction site.
But his luck changed when he went in to read for 'Family Ties', who initially also wanted Broderick, he added.
