US President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama's daughters, Sasha and Malia, recently made the 25 Most Influential Teens by Time magazine, however their mom doesn't seem to agree with the credit.

During an interview on 'Live With Kelly and Michael,' the first lady said with a chuckle that her girls merely lived in the White House and had done nothing to gain any influence, E! Online reported.

However, the Obama's wife, 51, did add that her daughters were "pretty self-motivated," followed the rules they had set, and "handle their business."

She added that since Malia was now older, she was "pretty much independent because I want her to be prepared for college when I'm not there."

On being asked if the honor had made the teenagers egoistic, or an excuse to get out of their responsibilities, Michelle said that she didn't think her daughter's realized that they were influential or had even read the article.

Others who made it to the list included Rookie founder Tavi Gevinson, Jaden Smith, 'Mad Men' star Kiernan Shipka, Austin Mahone and Chloe Grace Moretz.
