A monument dedicated to one of Michelle Obama's distant relatives was pushed onto the ground in suburban Atlanta.
Now, police are investigating the toppling of the stone structure to the First Lady's great-great-great-grandmother, Melvinia Shields, the Washingtom Times reported.
The monument of Shields, who was born in the slavery period of 1800s, was erected a year ago by Clayton County commissioners in recognition of her most famous relative, Obama.
The extent of damage is still being evaluated.
