At its annual Surface event in New York, Microsoft announced a lot of upgrades to its existing line of hardware, along with some significant new products. Here's a look at the major announcements.
The Surface Pro, Surface Laptop, and Surface Studio were announced at the event with upgrades under the hood. As TechCrunch reported, the Pro 6 is now 67 percent faster than its predecessor, and costs USD 999 onwards. It has been updated with a 267ppi display and 13.5 hours of battery life.
The Surface Laptop, on the other hand, has been improved to be 85 percent faster than the first-generation model. It is equipped with the 8th-generation quad-core Intel processor. Battery life is claimed to be at 14.5 hours.
Lastly, the Surface Studio now features a display which is 38 percent brighter and has 22 percent more contrast. It includes Pascal graphics cards and a 2TB SSD.
One of the highlights at the event was the introduction of the Surface Headphones which are more like an antidote to the AirPods-generation. They feature the standard over-the-ear aesthetics and are touch-enabled. At the core is Cortana which helps you shuffle the playlist. The Surface Headphones cost USD 350.
