Bayern Munich midfielder Franck Ribery has said he believes that he was the rightful winner of the Ballon d'Or and added that Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo did not deserve the award.

Ribery, who is currently on a trial along with Real Madrid and fellow Frenchman Karim Benzema for having sex with an under-age prostitute, helped Bayern to five titles in 2013 - the Champions League, the Bundesliga, the German Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup in 2013.

However, Metro.co.uk reports that the French international is miffed at being 'overlooked' for the award in favour of Ronaldo and said that he did not get the award because of political influence, adding that as compared to Ronaldo, he won everything, both with the team and individually.

Ribery, who was third in the Ballon voting behind Barcelona's Lionel Messi, further said that he feels like he earned the award, adding that the Golden Ball does not interest him any more.

Despite not winning a single trophy for Real Madrid, Ronaldo's 66 goals in 56 appearances and all-round attacking brilliance proved a bigger hit with voters, the report added.
