Retired footballer Tony Adams has slammed his former club Arsenal and said that they are 'miles away' from winning any title.

Insisting that the Gunners are ill-prepared to replace boss Arsene Wenger should he decide to leave at the end of next season, Adams said that the club has made a mistake in snubbing his offer of help, adding that he never received a response after he offered to join the Arsenal board, The Sun reports.

Stating that it is high time that the club won any trophy, even the FA Cup or League Cup, Adams, however, said that he cannot see them winning any title as they are still not good enough in certain areas of the team

According to Adams, he was stunned when the club named 73-year-old Chips Keswick as chairman last week, saying the appointment lacked imagination, and adding that they should have gone for him if they wanted a figurehead as the decision would have been a better visionary one.

Wenger, who has not won a trophy in eight years, is being tipped for the Paris Saint-Germain hotseat when his contract expires next summer, the report added.
