Miley Cyrus is standing by her MTV Video Music Awards date, Jesse Helt, after an arrest warrant was issued in his name by Oregon police.
According to People magazine, the 22-year-old young man is wanted by police for violating his probation for the 3rd time on a break-in attempt arrest in 2010, for which he was charged with attempted burglary and criminal mischief.
A source said that Cyrus has fought back saying that what Helt, who owed more than 1,800 dollars to the courts and in addition to completing 48 more hours of community service, had done was in the past and it shouldn't affect the cause.
Meanwhile, Helt's mother also praised the 'Wrecking Ball' singer on her Prizeo campaign for My Friend's Place, to help the homeless get off the street, and slammed the people who were "twisting things."
Cyrus had surprised the audience when she made Helt accept her award and give the acceptance speech at the recently held MTV VMAs.
