Militants have reportedly attacked a security checkpost, killing three personnel near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border the Bajuar Tribal Agency.
According to sources, the militants were from Afghanistan's Kunar Province, which lies just across the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
The Dawn reports that at least two other persons were also killed in the attack.
However, the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) has not confirmed the attack or casualties as yet.
The western part of Pakistan's tribal regions has witnessed similar militant attacks earlier. The prominent targets in the attacks have been Bajaur and Mohmand agencies bordering Afghanistan's Nuristan and Kunar Provinces.
In earlier attacks, the militants killed senior military commander General Sanaullah who had been on a visit to a checkpoint near Afghan border.
Similar attacks have been increased in bordering settled areas that were allegedly led by Mulllah Fazlullah Taliban.
