The Army on Thursday stated that around 200 armed militants are waiting to infiltrate India via the Line of Control (LoC) ahead of US President Barack Obama's visit to the country.

According to reports, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 16 Corps, Lieutenant General K H Singh has warned that there have been intelligence reports over the possibility of attacks by Pakistan-based terror outfits on 'soft targets' such as schools, religious places, military convoys and civilian areas in Jammu and Kashmir.

Lt Gen Singh also stated that terrorist organisations on the other side of the border are receiving the support of Pakistani establishments, including that nation's army and the ISI.

He, however, reiterated that the army is prepared to foil any attacks on Indian soil.
