A mini marathon was organised at the military station in Agartala by Red Shield Artillery Brigade on the occasion of 69th Army Day.
Dipa Karmakar, who shot to fame after becoming the first Indian gymnast to qualify for the Olympic finals, flagged off the event yesterday.
The mini Mmarathon was conducted in three categories for male, female & children.
Participation from various schools, Army units, Assam Riffles and sportsmen from Don Bosco school participated in the event.
The Marathon was a great success which encouraged and motivated the youth of Agartala.
On completion of the marathon, Commander Red Shield Artillery Brigade felicitated Karmakar and her coach Bishweshwar Nandi, with presentation of a memento.
The winners in various categories were presented prizes for their success in the Marathon.
