The Indian embassy in Abu Dhabi has not revised the minimum wage of Indian workers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for a few years, said the embassy on Monday.

The embassy had last revised the minimum wages for various categories of Indian workers on March 15, 2011, reported GulfNews.com.

The embassy has come across various news reports for not revising the minimum wages of Indians working in the Gulf countries.

The minimum wage for 36 categories of skilled and unskilled Indian workers who wanted to work in the UAE was increased by 40 to 50 percent.

In 2011, the minimum wage level was changed to 950 to 1,400 Dinars while it was previously fixed from 600 to 1,000 Dinars.
