Ministerial delegation from Tanzania calls on Jitendra Singh

A delegation from Zanzibar-Republic of Tanzania led by the Minister for Labour and Public Services/Personnel and Training, Mr. Haroun Ali Suleiman called on Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh on Frida.

They discussed issues related to governance and personnel management on which the two countries could exchange inputs.

During the interaction, Mr. Suleiman expressed his wish to initiate a process of exchange of officers and civil servants between the two countries for training and internship programmes.

He also suggested setting up of a small committee of personnel experts from the two countries which could help Zanzibar-Tanzania in improving its public services including the civil services known as "Zanzibar Public Services".

 

The Tanzanian Minister also referred to the "Institute of Public Service" in his country which was engaged in training the bureaucrats and expressed his desire to learn from the Indian experience.

Dr. Jitendra Singh assured Mr. Suleiman that Government of India would be looking forward to help the Republic of Tanzania from its experience in governance and personnel management.

He said, India has a rich and a long cherished legacy of civil services which is possibly among the best in the world.

The members of the delegation included Tanzania Minister of State (MoS) Labour and Public Services/Personnel and Training, Mr. Yakout H. Yakout, Secretary Zanzibar-Tanzania Public Service Commission, Mr. Mtoro Almas Ali and Counselor in Tanzania High Commission in New Delhi, Mr. Yahya A Mhata.
