Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza and her Swiss partner continued their scintillating form as they won their second straight women's doubles game to top the Red Group of the year-ending WTA Finals here on Wednesday.
The top-seeded Indo-Swiss pair claimed a 6-3, 6-4 win over seventh seeds Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka of Czech Republic in a round robin contest that lasted one hour and 16 minutes to inch closer towards securing a semi-final berth.
Mirza and Hingis have won eight women's doubles titles this year, including two Grand Slam titles at Wimbledon and the US Open, since joining forces in March.
The WTA Finals is an annual end-of-season tour championship, where the top-eight players or pairs of the year will compete against each other in two round robin groups of red and white.
