Pakistani Test and ODI captain Misbah-ul Haq has branded his team's victory over South Africa in the first Test at Abu Dhabi on Thursday as 'unbelievable' and called it a much-needed win.
Smarting after an embarrassing Test loss to minnows Zimbabwe recently, Pakistan rallied back from the defeat and retained their lead in the match with the help of bowlers Saeed Ajmal, Junaid Khan and Zulfiqar Babar, scoring an overall fourth win over South Africa and taking a 1-0 lead in the two-match series
According to The Dawn, Misbah, who along with fellow veteran Younis Khan was left to see off the target in the Test, said that the win was unbelievable and a much-deserved one for his team given that it boosted their confidence, especially against the number one Test team in the world.
Hailing the players for showing a good team effort, Misbah commended openers Shad Masood and Khurram Manzoor and the bowlers for their contribution, adding that a major difference between both the teams in UAE was that conditions there suited Pakistan's batting and the bowlers have a good record in the country.
