Missing Algeria plane: Wreckage found in Mali

The wreckage of Algerian flight AH 5017 has reportedly been found in Mali.

According to the BBC, the plane along with 116 people on board, lost all contacts with the control room 50 minutes after it took off from Ouagadougou on Thursday morning. The plane was flying from Burkina Faso to Algiers and had to deviate from its course due to a sandstorm.

The Malian state television confirmed that the plane wreck was found in the village of Boulikessi in Mali.

The passenger list consisted of 27 people from Burkina Faso, 51 French, eight Lebanese, six Algerians, two from Luxembourg, five Canadians, four Germans, one Cameroonian, one Belgian, one Egyptian, one Ukrainian, one Swiss, one Nigerian and one Malian.
