The mystery passengers travelling on the missing Malaysian Airlines jet, who had been travelling on false documents, reportedly looked like Italian footballer Mario Balotelli.

The two Iranian-looking passengers had been traveling onboard the MH370 flight, with stolen passports as they were reportedly looking for a new start in Europe.

Director-general of Malaysia's Department of Civil Aviation, Azharuddin Abdul Rahman, said that they looked at the CCTV footage of the video and the photographs and found that the two men were not Asian-looking, news.com.au reports.

Rahman further observed that the two men passed through all 'security protocols' before boarding the flight and looked like the Italian striker.

Meanwhile, a man who claims to be a friend of the two mysterious passengers revealed that how they were Iranian nationals who traveled to Kuala Lumpur from Tehran several days ago and purchased the stolen passports in Phuket, the Malaysian capital where the original owners of the passports claim theft.

The MH370, with 239 people on board, vanished mysteriously after an hour of take off from Kuala Lumpur enroute to Beijing and authorities are yet to make sense of the strange disappearance, with theories ranging from ocean crash and terrorism.
