A UK family of 12 members who went missing on May 17 has joined the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and is now "safer than ever", according to a statement by ISIS on their behalf.
According to BBC, a statement purportedly sent by a member of the ISIS said that it was "outrageous" to suggest that the family had been kidnapped and forced to join the group.
There are three children in the family aged between one and 11.
The police earlier said that they may have travelled to Syria.
However, the statement, which includes two photos purportedly of family member Muhammed Abdul Mannan, has not been verified.
