Asserting that Jammu and Kashmir will witness a major change this time, BJP president Amit Shah on Thursday said that his party's 'Mission 44' would soon become a reality in the poll-bound state.

"A government of clear majority has been formed in the nation after 30 years. Jammu and Kashmir will also witness a major change in the same year, 2014. 'Mission 44' is not just a slogan, it will turn into a reality very soon," Shah said at an election rally here.

He also blamed both the ruling National Conference and the opposition People's Democratic Party for the state's woes.

"Only two families have ruled this state since 60 years that is why Jammu and Kashmir is facing such a question mark. There is a major problem of power, health and education. There is the problem of unemployment," he said.

The BJP president also used the occasion to target Congress president

Sonia Gandhi and former prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh

"Moni (silent) Baba was our PM earlier and he also used to go to foreign countries, but was not welcomed there. But you can see how Narendra bhai has been received in the foreign countries," said Shah while emphasizing on the tremendous applause that Prime Minister Narendra Modi received during his three-nation tour to Myanmar, Australia and Fiji recently.

"Soniaji asks for our account of work in five months, first they should give their account of work in 60 years," he added.

The BJP is seeking to attain a majority in the state this time, bolstered by its stunning performance in the Lok Sabha elections and later in the assembly elections in Haryana and Maharashtra respectively.

The assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir are scheduled to be held

in five phases from November 25 to December 20. The counting of votes

will be held on December 23.
