Missouri State University, a long-established university of mid-west US, has announced a waiver on non-resident fees for meritorious Indian students keen on studying at the university.
Indian students will now get a chance to benefit from the university's Out-of-State Fee Waiver Program, of approximately USD 6000 annually, for students taking 30 credit hours per year.
Also, under the Missouri Outreach Graduate Opportunity (MOGO) Scholarship, the university provides a partial remission of out-of-state fees for full-time graduate students studying at MSU. This scholarship is available to students admitted into an eligible and select graduate program.
The eligibility towards the Out-of-State Fee Waiver Program is a minimum SAT score of 1090 (sum of the Critical Reading and Math portions only). While for Missouri Outreach Graduate Opportunity (MOGO) Scholarship, a student must have an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.25, have official scores from the GRE or GMAT on file with the MSU Graduate College, be a first-time graduate student admitted into an eligible program.
Apart from the fee waiver, MSU announced admissions for their Master of Science in Administrative Studies (MSAS) programme. The inter-disciplinary programme is aimed at enhancing administrative abilities with core focus in areas like cyber security, applied communication, criminal justice, homeland security, environmental management, sports management, and producing and screenwriting.
Also, the university announced students and faculty exchange programmes at their partner universities, which includes Madras Christian College, Birla Institute of Management Technology and Osmania University, to name a few.

Stephen H Robinette, Vice President, MSU, said, "Missouri State University is committed to developing educated global citizens, and we would like more Indians to be a part of the university as we believe they have a lot of talent. With our initiatives on scholarships and exchange programmes, we would like to make studying at MSU more accessible to potential Indian students. At MSU, we believe in imparting world-class education, and in an effort to make it available to the students in India as well, we are also exploring tie-ups with some reputed schools to introduce elective subjects in class XII."
MSU has started inviting applications from Indian students formally, since last year (2014), for its various undergraduate and graduate programmes.
"Since, August last year, we have received fairly decent response, with more than 150 applications from Indian students. With the new initiatives, especially the scholarship one we hope to add more talent to our university from India", said Colonel Kent D Thomas, Assistant Vice President, International Programmes, MSU.
Missouri State University was established in the year 1905, MSU is the second-largest university in Missouri with over 23,000 students currently studying out of which 1,500 are international students representing over 85 countries worldwide.
The Princeton University reviewed it as 'The Best in the Midwest distinction'.
MSU has a world-class faculty with over 90 percent faculty holding a terminal degree in their field of study.
The university comprises of a school of agriculture, a graduate college and six academic colleges namely, College of Arts and Letters, College of Business, College of Health and Human Services, College of Humanities and Public Affairs, College of Natural and Applied Sciences and College of Education.
MSU provides state-of-the-art facility for its students which include on-campus residence halls and dining centers, a student union, a world-class library, a brand new recreational center and dedicated academic facilities. Both on-campus and off-campus housing facilities are available at MSU.
