Indian skipper Mithali Raj smashed a brilliant half-century to help her side claim a five-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the second T20, thereby taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series at JSCA International Stadium here on Wednesday.

In reply, India chased down the target with six balls to spare, thanks to Mithali for her unbeaten 51 off 52 balls.

Anuja Patil also contributed a significant 34 runs knock in her side's innings before becoming a victim of Eshani Lokusuryage.

Inoka Ranaweera was pick of the bowlers for Sri Lanka as she dismissed opener Vellaswami Vanitha, Deepti Sharma and Veda Krishnamurthy for just 10 runs.

Earlier, the visitors failed to make a solid start as none of them were able to reach the half-century. Dilani Manodara was the top scorer for Sri Lanka with 27 runs from 25 balls

The two sides will now play the inconsequential third match at the same venue on Friday.
