British sprinter Mo Farah cruised to victory in the 5000 metres at the World Championships in Beijing and consequently became the first man to claim a triple-double on Saturday.

The double Olympic champion, who bagged the gold medal in the 10,000m last week, crossed the finishing line for a time of 13min 50.38sec, Sport24 reported.

Meanwhile, Kenya's Caleb Ndiku finished second, ahead of bronze winner Ethiopian Hagos Gebrhiwet.

Farah had earlier claimed the doubles at the 2012 London Olympics and 2013 World Championships in Moscow.
