Mobikwik enables cashless payments at 112 toll plazas

In times of note ban paralysing payments for the country, MobiKwik has taken many initiatives to ease the common man's life

Mobile wallet major, MobiKwik on Friday announced that commuters across India can now pay with MobiKwik wallet at 112 toll plazas in the country.

Last week, the company received an approval from National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to enable commuters across all toll plazas in the country pay cashless through its mobile wallet to avoid traffic congestion due to the cash crunch. The service has already been enabled in 11 states.

"We are proud to support NHAI in making pan India toll plazas cashless and helping commuters in overcoming the challenge of the cash crunch," said Co-founder MobiKwik, Bipin Preet Singh.

 

Tolls in Delhi NCR, Rajasthan, UP, Bihar, Odisha, Telangana, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Haryana, J&K (Vaishnodevi) and Gujarat states have gone cashless with MobiKwik. The company is in the process of making pan India toll plazas live within this month.

"Toll payments with MobiKwik can be done within seconds. This saves time for both the commuter and the staff at the toll plaza. We urge people to use digital payments as much as possible and support the Government of India's mission of a clean, cashless economy," added Bipin.

In times of note ban paralysing payments for the country, MobiKwik has taken many initiatives to ease the common man's life. The company was the first in the financial sector in India, to announce free bank transfers that motivated millions of sellers and buyers to transact cashlessly.

The company has partnered with IRB, Pink city, Arya Infra toll, Patel Infra, Reliance, Skylark, Satbhav Engineering, Theme Engineering Services Pvt. Ltd, Bholanth Rajyapati Shukla and Uniquest Infra to power toll payments.
