Modi makes brief stopover in Chennai en route to Sriharikota

Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, made a brief stopover in Chennai this afternoon, on the way to Sriharikota to witness the launch of ISRO's PSLV C-23 rocket.

He was received by the Governor of Tamil Nadu, K. Rosaiah, and the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, J. Jayalalithaa.

The Prime Minister later had a courtesy meeting with Jayalalithaa, before leaving for Sriharikota.

The indigenous PSLV-C23 rocket, carrying satellites of France, Germany, Canada and Singapore, will be launched tomorrow from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SHAR) in Sriharikota.
