As Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived here on Saturday morning, a large crowd of Indians thronged outside the hotel where he will be staying during his visit, waiting to catch a glimpse of him.
The cheering Indian diaspora were seen dressed up in traditional garb and were waiting outside the Hotel Renaissance with placards, banners and waving Indian flags.
As the Prime Minister's car rolled in, the crowd burst out into chants of 'Modi Modi' as the security tried to contain the large crowd.
Prime Minister Modi, flanked by his security team went ahead to greet the crowd and waved at them while the deafening chants of 'Modi' and 'vande matram' rose.
"It's incredible that our Prime Minister is reaching out to Indians everywhere in the world. Now he has come here in Malaysia and we could not be more happy and proud of him," a local told ANI.
Prime Minister Modi arrived here today early morning to attend 10th ASEAN-India Summit and 13th East Asia Summit, besides holding bilateral meetings with his Malaysian counterpart Najib Razak.

The Prime Minister arrived here at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport at around 4:15 am (IST) and he was received warmly by the High Commissioner of India to Malaysia T.S. Tirumurti.
"Reached Kuala Lumpur. Today's programmes include ASEAN Business & Investment Summit, 13th ASEAN-India Summit & one-to-one meetings," the Prime Minister tweeted upon his arrival.
