Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi has indirectly rebuked by tweeting to his well-wishers like Giriraj Singh and Praveen Togadia for making irresponsible statements.

"Petty statements by those claiming to be BJP's well wishers are deviating the campaign from the issues of development and good governance," Modi tweeted.

"I disapprove any such irresponsible statement and appeal to those making them to kindly refrain from doing so," he added.

Modi's tweet comes close on the heels after the Election Commission sought a report on Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader, Praveen Togadia' alleged hate speech where he reportedly stated that people from the Muslim-community should be debarred from buying properties from Hindu-dominated localities.

Another leader from the BJP, had warned asking Modi baiters to leave India and go to Pakistan if Modi comes to power.
