Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold discussions with Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairperson Khaleda Zia on Sunday.
According to the Daily Star, the announcement by Indian Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar came hours after Bangladesh Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali ruled out "any possibility" of the Indian PM meeting Khaleda during his 34-hour trip.
Jaishankar said at a press conference in New Delhi on the eve of Prime Minister Modi's visit that he will receive and interact with a number of Bangladeshi leaders, including Opposition Begum Raushan Ershad, former prime minister of Bangladesh Khaleda Zia, presidents of leading chambers and leaders of leftist parties.
In 2014, Zia congratulated Modi even before the official results of the Indian national polls were out.
She had also thanked the Modi government after the ratification of the Land Boundary Agreement with Bangladesh by the Indian parliament.
