Janata Dal (United) leader K.C Tyagi on Saturday said Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is not the right person to handle Kashmir, and added that the latter is an expert in politicizing every issue.

"I am in support of Geelani as far as this matter is concerned, as Modi is not the right person to sort out the issue of Kashmir. All parties of Jammu and Kashmir and the rest of the world need to sit together on this issue and decide what needs to be done," said Tyagi.

"Modi is ready to talk on any topic from animals and birds, to the issue of Kashmir. He is an expert in taking up issues and politicising them," he said.

Yesterday, Kashmiri separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani claimed that Narendra Modi had sent two emissaries to approach him for a meeting on March 22, while he was in Delhi to talk about the Kashmir issue.

Geelani said they asked him if he was ready to offer any assistance for the same.
