The Punjab Government has ordered a judicial probe into the Moga incident wherein a 13-year-old girl girl was molested and then thrown off a bus, leading to her death.

The judicial commission of inquiry will be headed by former chief justice of Kerala High Court V.K. Bali.

Both houses of Parliament were repeatedly adjourned yesterday as the opposition protested noisily demanding a discussion on the Moga incident.

Congress Deputy Leader in the Lok Sabha, Amarinder Singh, moved an adjournment motion to discuss the law and order situation in Punjab.

The former Punjab chief minister has demanded the imposition of President's Rule in Punjab and alleged that the law and order machinery in the state has 'total collapsed'.

The opposition parties have criticized Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal of the Akali Dal and his family, which co-owns Orbit Aviation, the company that runs the bus in which the teen was molested and then thrown off. Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal co-owns the bus company.

The 13-year-old girl died after she and her mother were allegedlypushed off a moving bus on the Moga-Bathinda highway on April 29.

The incident led to widespread outrage and a ban on the Orbit Company's buses by the Punjab Government.

The bus driver, conductor and cleaner have been arrested and charged with murder.
