Former Pakistan chief selector and coach Mohsin Khan has reportedly turned down an offer to work in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) by Shahryar Khan during the chairman's visit to Karachi.

The PCB chief's meeting with Mohsin and former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif, two of the most vocal opponents of the board's policies, was met with raised eyebrows amid speculations that job offers might be on the cards.

An official close to the matter revealed that Mohsin was asked to work in the board, but the former Test player decided against it, The Express Tribune reported.

Mohsin also confirmed the news, saying that he had a very cordial meeting with Shahryar, who praised his work as chief selector and coach of Pakistan. He added that he respects the PCB chief's gesture of calling on former players and discussing matters regarding Pakistan cricket.

Mohsin said that Shahryar wanted him to work with the PCB, but he told him that he will serve the nation at the right time and with the right people.

Mohsin has frequently declared the team management 'tainted' ever since the induction of Waqar Younis as head coach and Mushtaq Ahmed as spin-bowling consultant.

Shaharyar also met Moin Khan to determine the reason behind Pakistan's poor performance in Sri Lanka and discuss plans for the upcoming series against Australia and New Zealand leading up to the 2015 World Cup, the report added.
