A security flaw in Twitter reportedly allowed unauthorized people to view tweets from some protected user accounts.

The bug had been present since November 2013 and Twitter has now fixed the issue, revealing that some 93,788 protected accounts had been 'at risk' due to the bug.

According to Tech Crunch, protected accounts are readable by those who've been manually approved by the account's owner.

Although Twitter didn't delve deep in the details, saying only accidentally un-protected tweets were sent via SMS/ push notifications, the company cleared that any unapproved followers who found their way in via this route should now be removed.
