Former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has decided to switch to Major League Soccer (MLS) after signing for Montreal Impact.
Drogba has joined the MLS club following after his second spell at Chelsea where he won the league title last season.
Montreal president Joey Saputo said that it was an honour to welcome Drogba to the Impact and the signing was one of the biggest days in club history, the BBC reported
He also said that his arrival would be beneficial to the club in every respect.
Drogba, who has been brought in as designated player at the Canadian side, will get wages which will not be restricted by the MLS salary cap.
Montreal Impact, which have the member of the MLS since 2012, finished bottom of the table last season.
